Łódź sightseeing: plan your day around the standout sights

Łódź spreads its sights along a long spine: Manufaktura's red-brick works sit west of Piotrkowska, while the Central Museum of Textiles waits at the far southern end of the same street, so the walk between them shapes a day. EC1, by Łódź Fabryczna, is the easiest stop to reach by train.

Some places cost nothing at all: the lanes and square at Manufaktura are free, as is an hour in Poniatowski Park, and the rooftop figures on Poznański Palace can be seen from the street. Elsewhere book ahead — EC1 sells film and planetarium tickets separately and timed slots go first, while the Central Museum of Textiles is worth reserving.

Timings vary sharply. The Alexander Nevsky Cathedral takes twenty to thirty minutes, the Jewish Cemetery two to three hours, and the Botanical Garden, open from April to October, can fill a green half-day with its Japanese garden and arboretum. The Museum of Art divides between ms1 and ms2, so choose one seat or give it half a day.
